Celebrations matter, and as a proud parent myself, I understand the joy of an event that spotlights this wonderful moment in a child’s life. But a Bar Mitzvah is also a reminder that your son is a piece of a whole community. This humbling reminder – as well as the learning and connections that take place in preparing for Bar Mitzvah – offers your son an opportunity to build his relationships with everyone in his support network – and most importantly, with G-d. And that is definitely worth celebrating!
In recent times, we’ve come to appreciate the possibilities and convenience of virtual learning – while reaffirming the enduring importance of personal connection. The Bar Mitzvah Prep School brings together the best of both worlds… The virtual format allows for tutoring at your son’s own pace (and without the distractions that come in a typical classroom setting). But the lessons are also designed to be a springboard for personal connection – encouraging ongoing reflection with parents, family, and friends.
I’ve always been able to explain complex topics clearly – and get right to their core and meaning. And that’s why being a teacher is central to my core. It is my passion and privilege to guide young men through this meaningful time – and to transform traditional (and often lacklustre) Bar Mitzvah preparation into a memorable, impactful, and fun experience.
The course doesn’t merely help you and your son prepare for the bar mitzvah celebration, but for a life full of meaning, purpose, and faith. The course includes twenty 15-minute tutoring lessons that cover a wide range of topics – from “How to Pray” to “Shabbat” and “The Jewish Calendar” to “Life After Life.”

When my son turned 12, we wanted to find a program that would teach him practical applications of Judaism for real life, not just abstract religious stuff. Rabbi Weinstein’s course was the perfect solution! I am definitely signing up my younger children when the time comes.”

I appreciated the ability to watch the lessons on my own time. The flexibility meant that I could watch when I felt relaxed and able to focus. The ability to rewatch the lessons wasn't only convenient, but engaging, because it allowed us time to discuss the concepts from every lesson.”
